Job Posting: Finance Lead

RestartME is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Lead to oversee and strengthen our financial operations and ensure fiscal health. The Finance Lead will oversee portfolio management, financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while supporting the organization’s mission to create economic opportunities for low-income individuals and small businesses. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role is key to ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability and impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Planning

    • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow management, and forecasting to support program delivery and growth.

    • Lead the development of annual budgets, tracking actuals against projections, and recommending adjustments as needed.

    • Ensure efficient and responsible resource management.

    • Acts as the Secretariat of the Credit Committee upon evaluating applications for various loan product offerings.

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, tax filings, and audit requirements for non-profit organizations.

    • Coordinate and lead annual audits, ensuring accurate and transparent financial reporting.

  • Portfolio and Fund Management

    • Oversee RestartME’s collection of investments, projects and products to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, risk management, and value creation.

    • Manage the organization’s portfolio and financial aspects of programs, including tracking expenditures, reporting, and compliance with funder requirements.

    • Collaborate with program and development teams to align budget allocations with program needs and goals.

    • Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for funders, donors, and grant proposals.

  • Risk Management

    • Identify and manage financial risks, implementing controls to protect assets and mitigate risk.

    • Advise the leadership team on financial strategy, risk, and long-term sustainability planning.

  • Team Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Executive Director, the Credit Committee to support strategic decision-making.

    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support organizational goals and priorities.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (CPA or advanced degree preferred).

  • 3- 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with experience in the non-profit sector preferred

  • Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of microfinance principles and/or small business financing.

  • Strong knowledge of non-profit financial management, including fund accounting, grant management, and compliance.
